Why Choose Us for Turf Installation

Prep-First Process

Old lawn out, soil fixed, grade corrected. The work under the sod is what makes it last.

Fresh-Cut Local Sod

We schedule delivery so rolls are cut, delivered, and laid within hours, not left drying on a pallet.

Grass Matched to Your Yard

Sod blends chosen for Western Oregon conditions and for how much sun your yard actually gets.

Drainage Dealt With Up Front

Soggy spots get graded or drained before installation, so the new lawn does not drown where the old one did.

Common Questions About Sod Installation

What is the best time of year to lay sod in Oregon?

Spring and early fall are ideal. Temperatures are mild and the rain helps with establishment watering. Fall is often best of all, since the sod roots through our wet, mild winter and is fully tied down before its first dry summer. Summer installs work fine too, they just demand strict daily watering.

How long until I can walk on new sod?

Stay off it for about two to three weeks except for moving sprinklers. Light foot traffic is fine once the rolls resist a gentle tug, which means roots have tied into the soil. Hold off on heavy use, kids, and dogs for about a month.

How often should I water newly installed sod?

Daily for the first couple of weeks, enough to keep the soil under the rolls damp, with the corners of a roll lifted to check. After roots take hold, water deeper and less often to push roots down. In an Oregon summer that early stretch is non-negotiable; missed days show up as browned seams.

Do you remove the old lawn before laying sod?

Always. Laying sod over existing grass or weeds leaves an uneven, spongy layer underneath and lets the old weeds grow back through. We strip the old turf, fix the soil, and grade before any new sod goes down.

Is sod better than seeding a new lawn?

Sod costs more up front but gives you a finished, weed-free lawn in days and can be installed across more of the year. Seed costs less and offers more grass variety, but takes a full season of watering and weed control to fill in. For most homeowners who want a usable yard soon, sod wins.
